San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora announced on Monday, Dec. 13, that the city has recorded the lowest number of active COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in the country last year.
Zamora reported that as of Dec. 12, San Juan only has six active cases, the lowest recorded number of cases since March 2020.
He said that the city also recorded 15,385 recoveries, and 334 deaths. The city has not recorded any new active COVID-19 case and death.
The mayor reminded the public to remain alert, wear face masks properly, observe physical distancing, always wash their hands, and always follow the public health and safety protocols despite the declining number of cases.
He also urged those who have not yet been vaccinated to get themselves inoculated against the virus. They may register by clicking the link:(https://bit.ly/39Bi7ri ) and answer the form. They may also go to their barangay or health centers to register.
Zamora said that those who have received their 2nd dose more than six months ago are eligible to receive their booster shots as these will give them added protection against the virus, especially amid the threats of the Delta and Omicron variants.
In a Viber message to Manila Bulletin, the LGU said that 215,479 residents have been given their first dose, while 209,548 have been fully vaccinated.
