PR/campaigns firm Publicus Asia: Marcos most preferred 'presidentiable'

Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. has emerged as the most preferred presidential candidate for the upcoming elections in a survey recently conducted by a campaigns management firm.

In a survey conducted by Publicus Asia among 1,500 respondents from Dec. 6 to 10, 51.9 percent of the total respondents tagged Marcos Jr. as their preferred choice for presidential candidate.

He was followed by Vice President Leni Robredo at 20.2 percent and Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso at 7.9 percent. A total of 8.3 percent of the respondents were still undecided.

Publicus Asia said the survey was conducted through a "nationwide purposive sampling survey." The respondents "were randomly drawn from a market research panel by the Singapore office of PureSpectrum, a US-based firm," it added.

Marcos Jr.'s percentage of supporters rose by nearly 3 percent in the recent survey as compared to 49.3 in October.

Robredo declined by 1 percent, from 21.3; while Moreno also declined by 1 percent, from 8.8.

On the other hand, more than half of the respondents or 54.8 percent chose Sara Duterte-Carpio as their vice president.

She was followed by Willie Ong at 11.2, then Vicente "Tito" Sotto at 11.0 and Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan at 9.7.
