Health Secretary Francisco Duque III along with other officials have agreed to recommend on Monday, Dec. 13 the postponement of the second round of the "Bayanihan Bakunahan" in some areas that might be affected by the tropical storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) which is expected to become a typhoon by Wednesday, Dec. 15.

During the President's pre-recorded public address, Duque said in his report that he, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., testing czar Vince Dizon and Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año have agreed to recommend the postponement of the Bayanihan Bakunahan 2 in certain areas.
Duque said that based on the latest information provided to them by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the typhoon might affect Northern Mindanao, Central and Eastern Visayas as well as the Southern Tagalog region.
Instead of Dec. 15 to 17, it will be moved from Dec. 20 to 21, according to Duque. On the other hand, they recommended Calabarzon, as well as Central and Northern Luzon will push through with the original date set.
Meanwhile, Duque said that they are still accepting volunteers for the said national vaccination program.
"Hinihikayat namin ang ating next generation heroes o ang mga empleyado ng gobyerno ang pribadong sektor at ang civil society na makilahok bilang bahagi ng ating vaccination teams sa atin pong 18 priority areas (We are encouraging our next generation heroes, government employees, private sector, and the civil society to be a part of our vaccination teams in our 18 priority areas)," he said.
He mentioned that the costs that will be incurred by volunteers will be paid for by the Department of Health (DOH), the Civil Service Commission (CSC) or the Centers for Health Development (CDHs) depending on their respective sector.
