One hundred children received gifts and other treats in the “Barangayanihan Pamaskong Handog 2021 Para sa Batang Mandunong” Christmas outreach program led by the Mandaluyong City Police Station (MCPS) on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Starmall EDSA-Shaw Events Hall.
The event was made in partnership with the Eastern Police District (EPD), and faith-led non-profit organizations Mercy Ministry and Bless Our Cops (BOC).
The children were given gift bags by Mercy Ministry-Bless Our Cops containing canned food and drinks.
Three sponsors of the event also distributed their own gift bags.
Atty. Caroline Cruz, executive director of Pitmaster Foundation Inc., which has been providing Indigents with timely medical assistance services and targeted emergency relief, also gave food packs to the children.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office also gave food packs containing ingredients for Christmas noche buena.
Jose Rizal University School Coordinator Doc. Jonathan W. Chiong, a frequent sponsor of MCPS’ outreach projects, also gave loot bags to the children.
Selected members of the Mercy Ministry and BOC led the gospel readings and singing of worship songs.
The children, accompanied by their parents and guardians, watched an interactive puppet show and played parlor games such as guess the logo, guess the song, and a mini dance contest with prizes.
The MCPS thanked all those who helped the project and affirmed their commitment to “Serbisyong TAMA: May Tapang at Malasakit para sa Mamamayan (Strength and Compassion for All)."
