DSWD warns public vs fake FB page offering P10K 'ayuda' online
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is not offering a P10,000 financial assistance program online.

The DSWD made the clarification as it sounded an alarm over a fake Facebook page, which is supposedly offering financial assistance to netizens.
“The Department received a report from a concerned citizen that a bogus FB page, which is circulating online, posted a status asking the public to register through a link in order to receive the P10,000 financial assistance,” it said in a statement on Monday, Dec. 13.
The DSWD stressed that “it has no programs or financial assistance being implemented online or through social media platforms.”
It urged the public not to patronize the fake Facebook page, even as it reminded them to only refer to DSWD’s official Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/dswdserves or @dswdserves, for announcements and updates regarding various services and programs of the Department.
The DSWD Facebook page has over 1.1 million followers.
“The Department is currently taking appropriate action and investigation regarding the matter.”
For similar concerns, it advised the public to report it to the DSWD Agency Operations Center through the 8888 hotline.
