CHED approves guidelines for collegiate training resumption

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has approved the guidelines for the resumption of collegiate training on Monday in a big step towards the restart of collegiate competitions early next year.

Under the guidelines, teams must hold their training under a bubble-type setup where only fully vaccinated athletes, coaches and officials are allowed.

Stringent health protocols must also be implemented and followed to ensure the safety of athletes, coaches and officials.

Far Eastern University (FEU) was among those that got the early approval for collegiate training resumption after having complied with the requirements of the Inter-Agency Task Force, CHED and the Department of Health under the Joint Memorandum Circular.

FEU athletic director Mark Molina shared on social media the university’s certificate of authority dated Dec. 13 and signed by CHED Executive Director IV atty. Cinderella Filipina Benitez-Jaro.

“Let’s do this!” Molina wrote.

The certificate said the “authority shall be subject to revocation if the herein institution fails to maintain and to comply with rules and regulations stated in the said Joint Circular pertaining to the resumption of collegiate athletic training.”

UAAP and NCAA eye to restart in March next year after being absent for almost two years.
