More than 50 percent of Taguig’s estimated population of minors aged 12 to 17 years old has been vaccinated.
According to a weekly report by the Taguig City government, as of Dec. 9, a total of 47,137 minors have received their first dose of the vaccine or 52 percent of the estimated population of 90,092 for the age group based on the Department of Health’s projected pediatric population for 2021.

In addition, 21,109 minors are now fully vaccinated after getting their second dose, or 23.4 percent of the estimated population. In total, 68,246 vaccine doses were administered at Taguig’s vaccination hubs.
To date, 793,513 individuals have been vaccinated with the first dose in Taguig including 42,949 in private vaccination centers, or 91 percent of the estimated population of 872,980
Fully vaccinated individuals in Taguig have reached 702,983 including 32,266 in private vaccination centers, or 81 percent of the total population.
“One of the reasons why our cases are going down besides massive vaccination is our continued adherence to health and safety protocols,” said Mayor Lino Cayetano.
He added, “Our dream before that when December comes, we will have a merry Christmas, for society to open, for our economy to open, for children to be able to go out, we are already there.”
As of Dec. 11, Taguig has 48 active COVID-19 cases including 12 new cases out of 52,329 confirmed cases, 51,842 recoveries and 439 deaths.
The Taguig City government through its Taguig Safe City Task Force issued Advisory No. 60 on “Updated Guidelines for Certain Activities and Businesses during the Holiday Season under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the City of Taguig.”
The advisory stated that bazaars, parties and gatherings, religious gatherings and celebrations need approval from the Taguig City government.
