Boom Esports trounces Fnatic to get share of early SEA DPC Division I lead
Boom Esports proved that it is one of the legitimate threats to the top teams in the Southeast Asia region after beating powerhouse and The International 10 SEA representative Fnatic in a dominant 2-0 fashion in the SEA DPC Winter Tour Division I on Saturday, Dec. 11.

Boom demolished Fnatic in the two-game stretch—first in a lopsided 20-8 Game 1 win and another in the 30-18 series clincher—to notch its second win and a share of the lead with another SEA giant T1.
The Indonesia-based team which featured some of the top Filipino Dota 2 players, easily cruised in the opener as it only needed 25 minutes of play to take the first point of the series.
Saieful "Fbz" Ilham set the tone for the swift victory with a perfect 3-0-19 showing on the Mars while Erin Jasper "Yopaj" Ferrer quickly snowballed and contributed a 7-2-9 line in Boom’s wire-to-wire Game 1 win.
Fnatic seemed to be in disarray as it allowed Boom to pull away for good after it secured a team wipe as well as the Aegis at the 20-minute mark of the game.
Riding the Game 1 momentum, Boom kept it going in the second game albeit Fnatic showing some resistance this time around led by Marco Polo Luis “Raven” Fausto.
Boom, however, would not be denied especially as Yopaj had his way on the Puck with a monster 18-0-16 KDA. Timothy “Tims” Randrup provided support with a 3-2-17 line on the Luna all while enabling Yopaj to quickly get to his power spike.
With Boom’s win, Fnatic now dropped to a surprising 1-2 win-loss slate. The Malaysia-based team will have the chance to bounce back when it takes on OB Esports X Neon in Dec. 16.
Boom, on the other hand, will stake its unbeaten record in a clash against Team SMG on Dec. 15.
