Bongbong, Sara tandem hold 'mega caravan' on MM busy highways

The tandem of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio on Sunday drew a wave of people in Metro Manila’s biggest highways for their “mega caravan” as they wooed the public for their support in the coming national elections.

Although Sunday’s caravan passed through the metropolis’ major highways, such as EDSA, Quezon Ave. and Roxas Blvd., it did not cause a major traffic jam, unlike when the duo paraded through Commonwealth Ave. on Wednesday that left hundreds of vehicles stalled during the morning rush.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) even said the activity had “minimal impact” on the traffic.

Supporters of Marcos Jr. and Duterte-Carpio, whose alliance is called UniTeam, cramped on big trucks, on sedans and on motorcycles to influence the voting public.

They were wearing red shirts, Marcos Jr.’s political color, and waving red banners as the motorcade that didn’t stop honking passed through.

The recent political caravan was the tandem’s 5th caravan in Mega Manila.

The first one was on Wednesday in Quezon City, the next on Thursday in Cavite, then on Friday in Laguna and on Saturday in Rizal.
