Around 40,000 members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) and the Pedicab Operators and Drivers Association (PODA) received cash assistance and sacks of rice from the Paranaque City government on Dec. 10.
According to Mayor Edwin Olivarez, the assistance was part of the city government’s “Pamaskong Handog” to all the residents.
Olivarez said each member of the two associations received P500 and a sack of rice while their associations were given 20 to 30 sacks of rice and P5,000 each, which they can use for their Christmas raffles.
The mayor, who visited the distribution of assistance, cited the members of PODA and TODA for their important role during the COVID-19 pandemic.
