Tagaytay visitors to increase during Christmas season; hotels, restos now fully booked
The local government unit (LGU) of Tagaytay City assured that strict safety protocols are still in place in its popular destinations, especially as the number of visitors is expected to increase this Holiday season.

Tagaytay City Tourism Officer Jarryd Bello said almost 100 percent of tourism workers in the city have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 including those in the hotel and restaurant industries.
While there is a high inoculation rate among tourism workers in Tagaytay, Bello said the LGU is still taking appropriate measures to avoid another surge of COVID-19 cases in the city.
"Nandiyan pa rin po ang banta ng COVID, kailangan pa rin pong patuloy na maging mapagmatyag at maging mapagbantay (The threat of COVID-19 is still there so we should continue to be vigilant)," Bello noted.
"Pero maganda na tuloy-tuloy na po ang pag-usbong ulit ng komersiyo, ng turismo dito po sa bayan po ng Tagaytay (But we are thankful for the gradual revival of the economy and the tourism industry here)," he added.
According to Bello, the number of tourists visiting Tagaytay's famous parks has almost doubled so far this month compared to the figures recorded in November.
The local tourism official added that accommodation establishments, as well as restaurants in Tagaytay are also fully booked for the entire holiday period.
"Nakatulong din po siguro na malamig na ang panahon at alam naman po natin na ang Tagaytay ay isa sa mga best place na puntahan para ma-enjoy natin itong ganitong klaseng klima (Maybe the cold weather has helped and we know that Tagaytay is one of the best places to go to enjoy this kind of weather)," Bello said.
To ensure that health and safety protocols are being followed, Bello shared that they have been visiting tourism establishments to help them enforce the minimum public health standards.
Meanwhile, Bello reminded those who are planning to book a hotel in Tagaytay to bring the required documents such as vaccination card for fully vaccinated guests or negative RT-PCR test result for those who are yet to get their jab.
