The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to deploy its "Bakuna" buses to different parts of the country to vaccinate persons deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in its aim to assist the country's national vaccination efforts against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

PRC, through the directive of its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Dick Gordon, deployed PRC Bakuna buses in Cebu, Iloilo, and the National Capital Region (NCR).
PRC said that Gordon wanted to hasten the vaccination of PDLs to prevent COVID-19 from spreading inside the correctional facilities. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) had announced that the jail facilities under its supervision were free from COVID-19.
According to BJMP, more than 119,000 have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 and reported no new cases.
“Kahit ang mga nasa kulungan ay nararapat at kailangan mabigyan ng proper health care through vaccination. We need to act fast to beat COVID-19. Kailangan mabilisan at walang maiiwan at lahat ay maprotekatahan kontra COVID-19 (Even those in jails should be given proper health care through vaccination. We need to act fast to beat COVID-19. We should be quick and that everyone gets protected against COVID-19 and no one gets left behind)," Gordon said.
PRC vowed to continue its various initiatives to combat COVID-19 to alleviate human suffering and uplift the dignity of the most vulnerable. To date, PRC vaccinated 736, 297 individuals through its 17 Bakuna buses and 25 Bakuna centers.
