Mandaluyong City starts home booster vaccination of bedridden residents
The Mandaluyong City local government on Saturday started administering COVID-19 booster shots to its bedridden citizens as it ramped up its efforts to protect its population against COVID-19 and the more transmissible Delta and Omicron variants.
On its official Facebook page, the local government unit (LGU) shared photos of
City Health Office (CHO) officials inoculating bedridden residents and senior citizens COVID-19 with Sinovac and Astrazeneca vaccines as booster shots.
The LGU said that for those who are incapable of going to their respective vaccination sites for their booster dose may contact the MANDAVAX hotline for their house-to-house booster jab schedule: 0917-18-MANDA (62632), 0917-67-MANDA (62632), 0968-609-5405, 0915-497-2946, 0919-524-5715, 8532-5001 loc 471 to 480.
It reminded the public that only those who were vaccinated with their second dose six months prior and beyond are eligible to receive the booster shot.
As of Dec. 9, Mandaluyong has deployed 1,014,508 COVID-19 doses. A total of 519,827 residents have received their first dose while 486,220 have been fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the city has recorded 31 active COVID-19 cases as of Dec. 10. The CHO added that it has recorded 26,192 recoveries and 569 deaths.
