A fire gutted 15 houses in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa on Dec. 11.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Muntinlupa, the fire hit the Martinez Compound on Manuel L. Quezon Street in Purok 1.

The BFP-Muntinlupa said the fire started at the house of Esmeraldo Parco. The first alarm was at 1:10 p.m. and reached the second alarm at 1:32 p.m.
The fire was put under control at 1:43 p.m. before it was put out at 2 p.m.
About 20 fire trucks from BFP, volunteers and barangay fire brigades responded to the incident.
The Muntinlupa City government will provide food packs and hot meals to the affected families, according to the Public Information Office.
In a Facebook post, Bgy. Cupang said based on the report by the city’s Social Services Department, 17 families composed of about 70 individuals were affected by the fire.
Cupang Bgy. Captain Rainier Bulos ordered the setting up of modular tents where the families can temporarily stay.
The BFP-Muntinlupa is investigating the cause of the fire and has not yet estimated the amount of damage to properties as of press time.
