CEBU CITY — The entire bridge structure of the 8.9-kilometer Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is now finished with the recent completion of the Cebu Viaduct section of the project.
The bridge structure is 2.8 kilometers long. It consists of the main bridge, the Cebu South Coastal Road on and off ramps, Cebu Viaduct and the Cordova Viaduct.
Workers have also started dismantling the crane that was used in the construction of the CCLEX main bridge and two pylons.
Also completed was the first layer of asphalting works on the first two kilometers of the of the causeway.
The entire 8.9-kilometer CCLEX will be paved with asphalt to ensure a smooth drive on the expressway.
With the CCLEX expected to be opened in the first quarter of next year, installation of radio frequency identification (RFID) stickers needed for vehicles to use the bridge has also started.
