44,000 SAP waitlisted beneficiaries in Caloocan City finally get cash aid
Over 44,000 waitlisted beneficiaries of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) in Caloocan City are set to receive the cash subsidy, congressional candidate Jacob Cabochan announced on Friday.
Cabochan said the release of the cash aid to the first batch of beneficiaries started at 8 a.m. on Dec. 11.
On Nov. 17, Cabochan said that a letter from Caloocan City’s Social Welfare Development (CCSWD) stated that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has already released the list of SAP beneficiaries who have yet to receive their cash aid.
It noted that only beneficiaries who were not able to receive their cash assistance for the second tranche due to reasons other than disqualification to receive the subsidy will be considered for re-processing.
“Natutuwa po ako na nagbunga ang araw-araw nating pagkilos tungkol sa isyu ng pamimigay ng SAP dito sa ating lugar. Isang maagang pamasko para sa 44,000 waitlisted beneficiaries na nakabilang sa inilabas na inisyal na listahan ng DSWD na mapapasama sa payout (I'm happy that our efforts to address the issues on the distribution of SAP in our area bore fruit. The SAP is an early Christmas gift to our over 44,000 waitlisted beneficiaries who are included in DSWD's initial list)," Cabochan said.
He reminded the beneficiaries to bring the requirements needed for the release of the payout and advised them to follow the schedule assigned to their barangays to avoid overcrowding and ensure observance of minimum health protocols.
The list of eligible beneficiaries initially released by the DSWD is accessible through Caloocan’s official website.
SAP, which is under Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act (Bayanihan 1), provided each qualified family at least P5,000 up to P8,000 per month for two months for the purchase of basic necessities.
It was aimed to provide assistance to 18 million Filipino families who were greatly affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) last year.
