Las Pinas gov’t receives three awards from DOH


The Las Pinas City government received three awards from the Department of Health- Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) for its continued fight against COVID-19 on Thursday, Dec. 9.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar thanked the DOH for the three awards in recognition of the vaccination programs being implemented by the city government to end COVID-19.

Dr. Gloria J. Balboa, DOH-MMCHD Director1V, visited Las Pinas City and personally handed over to Aguilar and Vice-Mayor April Aguilar the recognition and appreciation of the national government.

The mayor said the city government and the City Health Office (CHO) received a Certificate of Recognition for its unwavering support and commitment to the COVID-19 National Deployment and Vaccination Program contributing to the attainment of 97 percent regional vaccination coverage of the targeted eligible population towards a safe and protected National Capital Region.

A certificate of appreciation was also awarded to Aguilar for unselfishly providing assistance during the Bayanihan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 in response to the call of the national government to augment vaccination teams in neighboring regions to ramp up nationwide vaccination coverage.

Balboa also praised Aguilar for making the city’s vaccination sites clean and orderly.

The mayor thanked the city residents for participating in the vaccination drive to protect them against the virus.

Aguilar shared the award with the city’s frontliners for their dedication and hard work in the vaccination campaign.

She said the fronliners are the city’s heroes during this pandemic.
