No cases of injuries related to firecrackers have been recorded so far, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Friday, Dec. 10.
“Hanggang sa ngayon, wala pa hong nairereport na injury from any firecrackers (So far, no injuries have been reported due to firecrackers),” said DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
Vergeire reiterated their appeal to the public to use alternative methods of noise-making during the celebration of Christmas and New Year.
She said that firecrackers “can cause harm or injuries to our family members.”
“Let us use alternative ways of making noise or alternative ways of celebrating our New Year,” said the DOH spokesperson.
“Pwedeng manuod nalang ng community fireworks display, maaring gumamit ng ibang paraan para makapag ingay katulad ng loud music, or nagba-bang tayo ng mga lata (You can just watch a community fireworks display, you can also use other methods to make noise such as loud music or through the use of cans),” she added.
