The tandem of presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio has pledged to focus on giving Filipinos stable jobs and financial security should they win in the 2022 elections.
Marcos Jr.'s camp on Friday said the presidential aspirant "understands that the economic security of every family is a basic need," so "his administration will prioritize this concern" if he becomes the country's leader.
They have to have money in their pockets, so they will not only be able to afford their needs but they should feel hope for their future as well)," Marcos said during his caravan in Cavite on Thursday.
His running-mate, Duterte-Carpio, shared his sentiment by saying that unity could lead to economic security "during these precarious times."
He told me that people need money. They need work. That's what will bring them money. People also need to know how to do business. We should have various businesses spread across the country because those will bring people money and work),'" the presidential daughter said.
Duterte-Carpio said what Marcos Jr. said made him realize to stand behind him.
The duo, who belong to different political parties, also agreed to become a "symbol of unity" as they forged their alliance for next year's elections, Marcos Jr. said.
