Global Remit completes semis cast in Champions League

Global Remit leaned on its rock-solid defense to demolish MRT-Negros, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23, Wednesday night and complete the semifinal cast in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League for Men at the Aquamarine Recreational Center in Lipa City, Batangas.

The Global Remit spikers posted 10 blocks including four from Joshua Villanueva to clinch the crucial lone victory after back-to-back defeats and claim the No. 2 seeding in Pool B.

Global Remit advanced to the next phase due to a superior tiebreak after it tied with Sabong International Spikers and MRT-Negros with 1-2 cards at the end of the Pool B preliminaries.

With the feat, Global Remit arranged a knockout semis duel with Pool A top seed Go for Gold-Air Force Aguilas slated Friday.

Skipper Joeven Dela Vega anchored Global Remit by firing 10 attacks for 12 points while Villanueva finished with 11 points.

Jade Disquitado and Bonjomar Castiel contributed a combined 15 points.
