Families enjoy spending time in Antipolo City park this Christmas season

Cold morning and late afternoon breeze add to the Christmas atmosphere that one can experience and feel while visiting the city proper in Antipolo City this Yuletide season.

Residents, young and old alike, continue to flock to Sumulong Park beside the National Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage and the City Hall building because of its latest attractions -- a dancing fountain, a giant eco-friendly Christmas tree, and dozens of Christmas ornaments.

Since its re-opening to the public on Nov. 29, the Sumulong Park, named after former Senator Juan M. Sumulong, has been attracting large crowds from morning until night time.

The 44-foot high Christmas tree along with state-of-the-art water fountains in between serves as the centerpiece at the park which used to be a parking lot.

Kids love running around the park while their parents take photos of themselves in front of dozens of Christmas decorations that adorn the place.

The pedestrian walkways on the streets leading to the park were also renovated in time for the Holiday Season.

Christmas decorations are seen everywhere including on facades of subdivisions and villages, making them part of the holiday attractions in this Pilgrimage Capital of the Country.

During the reopening of the park to the public, Mayor Andrea Bautista Ynares encouraged everyone to come to the place and experience Christmas the AntipoleÃ±o way.

She however reminded the visitors to always observe health protocols as the city government is strictly enforcing health measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
