The shear line, also known as tail-end of frontal system may bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol, Visayas, Caraga, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said that the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorm.
Affected areas were advised to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon locally known as "amihan" continues to affect the majority of Luzon as Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands will experience cloudy skies with light rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
No new low pressure area (LPA) inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was spotted by PAGASA.
As of Wednesday morning, a gale warning was issued due to strong to gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon, which may bring rough to very rough seas over the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA said fishing boats and other small seacrafts should not venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels should watch out for big waves.
