Paranaque City gov’t distributes food vouchers to PWDs


Around 10,000 persons with disabilities (PWDs) will received food vouchers amounting to P2,000 as “Pamaskong Handog” (Christmas gift) from the Paranaque City government.

Mar Jimenez, Public Information Office (PIO) head, said the city government will be distributing food vouchers to all PWDs coming the city’s 16 barangays.

Jimenez said that PWDs from Barangays Sto. Nino, La Huerta, Vitalez and Don Galo and San Dionisio already received their food vouchers.

He said the distribution of food vouchers to the PWDs is part of the city government’s “Pamaskong Handog” program.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez and Rep. Eric Olivarez were going around the city to personally distribute house-to-house the food packages.

Olivarez, who witnessed the distribution of food vouchers in Barangay San Dionisio announced that the city government already vaccinated and reached 120 percent of its vaccination target.

Olivarez also asked those who are still unvaccinated to get the jab for them to have protection against COVID-19.

He told residents to pray for the pandemic to end before Dec. 25 for everybody to celebrate a merry Christmas.

The mayor added the City Health Office (CHO) and City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) reported that the active case of COVID-19 in the city on Dec. 7 are down to 30.

Olivarez asked residents not to relax and continue to observe the basic health protocols to put an end to the pandemic.
