The country’s coronavirus disease (COVID-19) fatality rate has remained below the global average of 2 percent, while the pandemic situation in Metro Manila has been pegged at “very low risk” with just 17 days before Christmas.

Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles has also noted that the country’s “four-door strategy” in accepting foreign travelers has stalled the entry of the dreaded Omicron COVID-19 variant.

And to make sure that the country will be able to sustain this tough stance against the coronavirus, President Duterte has ordered a cap on the prices of drugs and medicines for leading illnesses.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomed new service commanders in the Philippine Army (PA) and Philippine Air Force (PAF).
