Nexplay made the announcement on Tuesday, Dec 7, officially ending Yawi’s three-season run with the team where he formed the ever-famous trio with Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcase and John Paul “H2wo” Salonga which was later on dubbed by the team’s fanbase as the ‘Big 3’.

“To one of the best tankers in MPL, thank you Yawi Esports! We are grateful that Nexplay served as your breakthrough in the MLBB scene. Aside from the record we achieve, we appreciate your contribution to NXPE!,” said NXP in a post on its social media accounts.

Yawi, along with RENEJAY and H2Wo rose to prominence when the three led the then-Nexplay Solid to a promising run in the qualifiers for the MPL Philippines Season 6.

NXP Solid then took MPL by storm not just in game but also outside with its banters against opposing teams, embracing its ‘bad boys’ identity during that season.

The team however struggled in its first two seasons in the pro-league finishing eighth both in the Season 6 and Season 7 iterations of the tournament. Nexplay after partnering with Indonesian esports organization, Evos for Season 8, finally broke through the playoffs to end the strings of misfortunes dubbed by the fans as the “8th place curse”.

The team eventually finished fourth in the tournament after losing to eventual champions Blacklist International in the lower bracket,

“We’re proud of your transformation and we, as well as your fans, can’t wait to witness where your MLBB journey will take you next! We wish you all the best, III-DOLO!,” added NXP.

Despite the break through finish, Yawi had been long rumored to be on his way out of the team as previously mentioned by Setsuna “Dogie” Ignacio on his vlogs.

A rumored team up between Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno and Yawi had also been swirling around the community and it could even grow stronger as the former also parted ways Bren Esports just yesterday.
