Aside from being the officiator of the mass wedding, Belmonte also served as principal sponsor of the newlyweds alongside Councilor Eric Medina, Barangay Culiat Captain Vic Bernardo, Barangay Pasong Tamo Capt. Banjo Pilar, Ms. Kristine Matias, Mr. Vito Sotto, and Dr. Ellie Juan.

One of the couples at the mass wedding, Marielle Tala and Richard Tala, said they were grateful for the city government’s initiative.

I’m blessed and happy that I can finally use his surname because we’re married, and most of all he’s already mine and I can call him my real husband),” Marielle said.

While Jade Ragundiaz, one of the grooms, expressed his gratitude to Co-Pilar’s team for assuring the mass wedding was safe for everyone, especially during the pandemic.

We are grateful for Councilor and her staff who are still working even though tired),” Ragundiaz said. (Cherrylin Caacbay)
