Domagoso recently went to Cebu and took time to visit more than 900 displaced families in temporary shelters at the Alaska Mambaling Elementary School and Mambaling Barangay Hall gymnasium.

“Bawat pamilyang nasunugan magkakaroon ng P10,000... Ibili n’yo ng yero para sa bubong at plywood para sa dingding (Each family affected by the fire will get P10,000 ... Buy galvanized iron for the roof and plywood for the walls),” he said.

“Nabalitaan ko kung ano nangyari sa inyo... Nung nakita ko , parang nakita ko yung Tondo. Walang pinagkaiba. Pero pareho lang malapit na malapit sa akin ang lugar ninyo. Nung nakita ko kahapon sa balita yung sinapit niyong lahat, nag-alala ako dahil nangyari yan sa amin dati, naubos kaming lahat (I heard what happened to you... When I saw , it was like I saw Tondo. No difference. But your place is just as close to mine. When I saw on the news yesterday what happened to all of you, I was worried because that happened to us before, we all lost everything),” Domagoso shared to the victims.

At least 944 families or more than 2,200 individuals were displaced from the fire in Mambaling, according to a data from the Cebu City government’s Department of Social Welfare and Services.
