With its $825 price, would you buy this luxury advent calendar?
Tiktok users are feeling scammed after unboxing Chanel’s latest advent calendar which costs $825—that’s almost P42,000!
For anyone who is not familiar with luxury advent calendars, it is a curated gift box with trinkets inside it hidden on numbered compartments to be opened on the corresponding dates, and are done by brands from the beauty to the food industry. The French label’s gift set’s calendar starts from Dec. 5 to 31, and comes in the shape of the N°5 bottle, an ode to the iconic falcon’s 100-year legacy.
“To mark the occasion and in honor of the holiday season, Chanel is offering a calendar unlike any other, inspired by the signature silhouette of the N°5 perfume bottle,” the brand says. “This collector's item is comprised of 27 boxes numbered 5 to 31, each of which contains a full-size fragrance or makeup product, miniature, or other surprise marked with Gabrielle Chanel's lucky number. A piece to treasure for years to come.”
But what shoppers got had them a little disappointed. One TikTok creator, Elise Harmon, shared some of the calendar’s contents. And apart from the hand cream, red lipsticks, and a Chanel No. 5 Christmas tree ornament, she was left unimpressed with the rest of the contents including stickers, a picture flipbook, a magnet, a keychain, a small Chanel dustbag, and a string charm bracelet, and a wax seal-shaped pendant of the brand’s logo, among others.

Other Tiktok users also shared their sentiments about the luxury advent calendar. According to one of her latest videos, Elise has been blocked by the luxury label’s Tiktok account.
Filipino fashion blogger Bryan Boy also shared his experience opening other luxury advent calendars, specifically from Dior and YSL. And it looks like he is not that happy with one of the calendars he got.
