Marcos: Bringing unity is greatest gift for Filipino people this Christmas

Presidential aspirant and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. said that bringing unity to the nation is the greatest gift that the Filipino people can give this Christmas.

“Only together as a unified nation shall Filipinos be victorious during and after the pandemic. Ito na siguro ang pinakamagandang pamasko na maiisip ko para sa ating lahat, ang makitang unti-unting nagbubuklod, nagkakaisa ang ating bansa. Tuloy-tuloy ang pagkakaisa dahil ito ang pinakamagandang pamasko natin sa ating lahat (Only together as a unified nation shall Filipinos be victorious during and after the pandemic. This is the greatest Christmas gift that I think we can give to everyone to see our nation bonding together and uniting. Continuous unity is the best Christmas gift we can give to all),” the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer said in a statement.

Marcos added that his latest travel to Cebu with running mate, vice presidential aspirant, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio gave him hope that the unity shown by the people will usher the country to a brighter future.

“Talagang masayang-masaya ang pakiramdam namin dahil bukod sa napakasayang mga pagtanggap eh pag pinagsama ninyo ang kulay naming pula at berde, Merry Christmas na nga talaga (We feel very happy because aside from your joyful welcome you have joined together the color red and green, it’s really a Merry Christmas now),” the former lawmaker said.

The former senator also said that his latest visit to Cebu has been fruitful because they were given the opportunity to meet and address the members and officials of the League of Municipalities during their Regional Planning Conference in Region 7 who in return expressed their unwavering support for the formidable tandem. The visit was also the first after the Bongbong-Sara UniTeam was officially formed.

Marcos added that the various ‘unity rides’ held in various parts of the country, especially the “Salubong” or merging at the San Juanico Bridge last November 30, symbolized the unity of Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao being called by the unifying leadership of the Bongbong-Sara UniTeam to bring about national unity, peace and progress in the country.

“Itong mga biyaheng ito ay sumisimbolo ng ating pagkakaisa bilang isang bansa, ang pagsasanib pwersa ng North at ang South. Hindi lang mga isla ang pingabubuklod-buklod ng UniTeam kundi ang buong sambayanan (This trip symbolizes our unity as one nation, the coalition force of the North and South. The Uniteam will not just bond together the islands but the whole nation),” said the former Ilocos Norte Jr, who added that the historic joining together of Bongbong-Sara UniTeam supporters signaled the country’s victory over the challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.
