QC launches livelihood assistance for small businesses

The Social Services Development Department (SSDD) of Quezon City launched the “Sikap at Galing Pangkabuhayan (SIGAP)” to offer technical and livelihood assistance to burgeoning small businesses and entrepreneurs in the city.

The event was held at the Quezon City Hall Covered Walk on Friday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sixteen small business groups received the SIGAP on the initial payout.

The beneficiaries must finish the vocational course of SSDD and undergo organization, management, business preparation, and bookkeeping training before receiving the livelihood assistance.

Assigned SSDD staff will monitor the recipients on a weekly basis for six months and supervise them monthly for two years to ensure the success of their businesses and the program.

Livelihood assistance was also given to 114 Quezon city residents under the Small Income Generating Assistance (SIGA) Capital Assistance program for sari-sari store owners and small business owners.
