The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed tax evasion charges against 11 corporate and one individual taxpayers for alleged refusal to settle tax debts totalling to more than P406 million.
Revenue Deputy Commissioner for Legal Group Marissa 0. Cabreros submitted the separate criminal complaints to the Department of Justice for review and filing before the Court of Tax Appeals.
The respondents based in Pasig City were identified as Basic Distributor, Cliref Enterprises, Leverage Systems Technologies, Federal Builders, Precision Plumbing and Development, Power Master, Philippine Bioscience, WowPilippines Travel Agency, Widescope Integrated Marketing.
Megaman Motors Philippines of Taytay, Rizal; Five J Drum and Used Chemicals of Antipolo City and Renato Maria San Pedro, proprietor of Renato Maria Gas Station of Mayamot, Antipolo.
National Capital Region Revenue Regional Director Edgar B. Tolentino recommended to BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay the filing of tax cheating cases againts the accused after they ignored several notices to settle the back accounts incurred during the past years.
The biggest deficiency tax assessment of more than P113 million was slapped against Power Master, followed by P41 million and P33 million, respectively by Leverage System and Philippine Bioscience.
