Cloudy, rainy over Batanes, Babuyan Islands due to fresh surge of 'amihan'

Cloudy skies with light to at times heavy rains may prevail over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the northeast monsoon or "amihan," the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tuesday morning, Nov. 9.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated monsoon rain showers or localized thunderstorms may also affect Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.
Likewise, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon except Bicol may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light amihan rains.
Meanwhile, the shearline or tail-end of frontal system and easterlies may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Bicol Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Quezon province.
PAGASA advised the public to remain alert during moderate to at times heavy rains due to possible flash floods or landslides.
Shearline is the convergence of northeasterly and easterly winds that forms rain clouds, while the easterlies are warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the weather bureau has not monitored a low pressure area or tropical cyclone that may form or affect the country in the next few days.
