Araneta City cinemas ready to resume operations

The City of Firsts joins other Metro Manila establishments in the much-awaited reopening of cinemas.

After its temporary closure due to the pandemic, Cinemas 2 and 3 of Gateway Cineplex 10 are set to reopen on Nov. 10. Hollywood films "Dune" and "A Quiet Place 2" will be screened in these cinemas starting 1pm.

Ali Mall Cinemas will follow on Nov. 24.

“We can’t wait to see you back here at Gateway Cineplex 10 and Ali Mall Cinemas! We have a long list of films that will surely excite, inspire, and thrill you, and we promise you that the best place to experience these films is in theaters. So, we hope that you purchase your tickets early,” Irene Jose, COO of Uniprom Inc. (the entertainment arm of the Araneta Group), said.

For safety and convenience, moviegoers are advised to purchase tickets online through the following:

1. the Araneta City mobile app (available on Google Play or Apple Store). Click the EXPLORE tab at the bottom of the screen, then choose CINEMAS. Or;

2. the Gateway Cineplex 10 website.

As a welcome treat to returning moviegoers, Araneta City offers the CLICK, BOOK, AND REPEAT promo. Purchase two tickets (of the same movie) using the Araneta City mobile app and get a extra FREE cinema pass that can be used to watch other movies. Promo runs until Nov. 30.

To assure moviegoers of their safety, Gateway Cineplex and Ali Mall Cinemas have secured a Safety Seal as proof of their compliance with basic health protocols.

UV Care room sterilizers have been installed, and air conditioning systems will be UV-treated to eliminate all airborne pathogens. Other protocols like temperature check before entry and physical distancing standards are in place.

All cinema employees and staff have been fully vaccinated. Only fully vaccinated moviegoers (upon presentation of vaccination card) will be allowed inside the cinemas.

“Your health and safety is always our number one priority,” Jose said. “We’re making sure that once you return to cinemas, you’ll not only have a good time watching the movies you’ve been waiting for, but we’re also making it a point that you’ll enjoy this experience in a safe environment.”
