100 contact tracers get orientation from Paranaque LGU

The Paranaque City government conducted an orientation for 100 contact tracers on Nov. 8 as part of the city government's efforts to further curb the transmission of COVID-19 cases in the city.

Mar Jimnez, Public Information Office head, said 50 contact tracers will be deployed to Districts 1 and 2.

Jimenez said the 100 contact tracers will be working for the city for 15 days and will receive P500 per day.

He said Mayor Edwin Olivarez wants the contact tracers to intensify the PDITR strategy (prevent-detect-isolate-treat and reintegrate) being implemented by the local government units in bringing down COVID-19 cases.

Olivarez said the city recorded a total of 3,000 active cases in August and lowered it to 177 active cases.

He said the strict implementation of the PDITR will determine who were positive, probable, and suspected to have acquired the COVID-19 virus.

The mayor asked the contact tracers to work hard to contain the virus in the city.

He said the containment of the virus will be a big factor for the recovery of country's economy.
