Pasig reports steady decline in COVID-19 cases

Active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Pasig have been steadily decreasing in the past weeks as a result of the aggressive vaccination drive for both adults and minors.

As of Nov. 7, a total of 124 active cases were recorded in Pasig. A week earlier on Oct. 31, there were 220 cases, according to the Pasig Public Information Office (PIO).

In one week alone, the total number of COVID-19 cases fell by almost 100.

The PIO said that as of Oct. 29, a total of 394,476 individuals have been fully vaccinated, representing 70 percent of the target population; while 446,075 have been given at least their first dose, representing 79 percent of the target.

Pasig’s 70% target population is 562,211. The city has a total population of 803,159, according to the 2020 Philippine Statistics Authority census.

Meanwhile, the city has enacted Executive Order No. PCG-88 Series 2021 in compliance with the Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) resolution placing Metro Manila under Alert Level 2.

The Pasig PIO released on Nov. 7 a set of guidelines detailing the activities allowed under Alert Level 2, some of which include:

·Full operational capacity for city government offices, public services, and disaster response offices and 50 percent operational capacity for all workplaces outside of the essential bubble listed by the executive order.

·Allowing minors, seniors, and citizens with comorbidities to travel.

·Allowing outdoor exercise for all ages regardless of comorbidities.
