DOH to present updated recommendation on use of face shield to IATF this week
The Department of Health (DOH) will present to the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) its updated recommendation on the use of face shields this week.

"Our experts, together with DOH of course will update the current review of evidence for this face shield use in this pandemic response. So we have committed to the IATF that by Thursday we will be presenting to them an updated recommendation for the use of face shields," Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a media forum Monday, Nov. 8.
She said the DOH and experts will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss the faceshield use for the pandemic response.
The Health official then called on local government units to wait for the IATF resolution on face shield.
"We call on local governments to wait for the IATF decision regarding the face shield. Until we can have the IATF resolution, we urge all local government to just hold their executive orders or their issuances so that we can all be uniform in our implementation and we are all aligned," said Vergeire.
Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso lifted on Monday, November 8, the use of face shields in the City of Manila.
Domagoso signed Executive Order No. 42 declaring the use of face shields as non-mandatory except in hospital setting, medical clinics, and other medical facilities.
