More than 20,000 minors in Manila get COVID-19 jab

More than 20,000 minors in the city of Manila have received their first dose of vaccine against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Based on the city's bulletin, a total of 22,165 minors including those with comorbidities have received their first dose of COVID-19 since the rollout of the mass vaccination for minors started on Oct. 22.

The vaccination of minors was held in the city’s six district hospitals, namely Sta. Ana Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila, Gat Andres Bonifacio, Justice Jose Abad Santos, Ospital ng Sampaloc, and Ospital ng Tondo.

The city's four mall sites, namely Lucky Chinatown Mall, SM Manila, SM San Lazaro, and Robinsons Place Manila were also used as vaccination sites for minors aged 12 to 17 years old.

The city government deployed 500 doses in each district hospital while 1,000 doses in the city's mall vaccination sites.

According to a Manila Public Information Office Facebook post, the city government is allowing walk-ins for minors and should be accompanied by one guardian or immediate relative.

The guardian or companion must bring a valid ID to prove their relation to the minor.
