Presidential aspirant and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has called for unity instead of "cancel culture" mentality in his latest BBM video blog.
This is campaign time and different issues have come out but these are all part of politics. What I can't accept is small businesses and businessmen being dragged into it. What I'm referring to is cancel culture. I've been receiving news that some restaurants, businesses, barber shops and livelihoods are boycotted because they are my supporters)," Marcos said in his BBM VLOG titled "Pagkakaisa, Hindi Pagkansela".
It's sad that these things happen in the middle of a pandemic. We are similarly all trying to rise up and looking for ways to support our families but then something like this happens)."
"Sa halip na magkansela, tayo ay magkaisa. Tulungan nating bumangon ang ating mga kapwa. Laging tandaan sa ating patuloy na pagkakaisa at malasakit sa kapwa, sama-sama tayong babangon muli (Instead of canceling, we must unite. Let us help others rise up. Always remember that when we are united and showing concern to others, we will rise up again)," the former senator added.
The former Ilocos Norte governor also cited the 4.25 million unemployed Filipinos last September who are now trying to get into micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) but are somehow being hindered due to politics.
Marcos also lauded his supporters for launching positive campaigns such as tree planting, beach clean-up, community pantry, feeding programs, and other groups who are providing special discounts to BBM supporters which according to him are new ways of campaigning these days. He also praised his supporters abroad for giving their support.
I admire these ideas which are very timely and beneficial to others and the environment)," the former Ilocos Norte vice governor said.
Ito lang po ang tanging daan sa tuluyan nating pagbangon (I hope that being a Filipino will prevail in spite of our differences. This is the only way that we can rise up)." (Melvin Sarangay)
