LPA brings scattered rains over Eastern Visayas -- PAGASA

Most of the country will experience generally fair weather conditions except for Eastern Visayas that may have scattered rain showers due to a low pressure area (LPA), said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday morning, Nov. 7.
PAGASA weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said the shallow LPA that was last spotted in the vicinity of Tanauan, Leyte has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical depression.
However, the weather disturbance may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over Biliran, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar, and Southern Leyte in the next 24 hours.
PAGASA warned those in these areas to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.
Bulquerin said the rest of the country will have generally fair weather conditions with only isolated rains due to the northeast monsoon or localized thunderstorms.
He said that the northeast monsoon or "amihan" prevailing over northern Luzon may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light amihan rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said the public should remain alert against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
