'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha' stars Kim Seon-ho, Shin Min-a voted No. 1 best drama couple in 2021

Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-a, stars of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” were voted as the No. 1 Korean drama couple of 2021.

Korean media outlet Joy News 24 held a survey from Oct. 12 to 19 to mark its 17 anniversary. The respondents in the survey were 200 entertainment industry people including employees of entertainment and broadcasting companies, film and broadcast content producers, and entertainment reporters.

1. "Sikhye Couple" Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-a - “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” (tvN) - 103 votes

For “The Best Couple in a Drama in 2021,” more than half of the respondents chose Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-a of tvN’s “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” The two got 103 votes, or 51.5 percent, to top the survey.

“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is a healing romance between dentist Yoon Hye-jin (Shin Min-a) and jack-of-all-trades Hong Du-sik (Kim Seon-ho). Its final episode got a rating of 12.665 percent to place 14th in the list of the highest rated Korean dramas in Korean cable TV history.

2. Song Joong-ki and Jeon Yeo-bin - “Vincenzo” (tvN) - 20 votes

Song Joong-ki and Jeon Yeo-bin of “Vincenzo” were voted as the second best couple in a drama with 20 votes. “Vincenzo,” which aired from February to May this year, was Song Joong-ki’s comeback drama after "Arthdal Chronicles" in 2019.

In “Vincenzo,” Song Joong-ki played the lead role of Vincenzo Cassano, an Italian lawyer and adviser to a mafia organization, who was born in South Korea and adopted by an Italian family. He returns to South Korea after a conflict occurs in the organization.

3. Jo Jung-suk and Jeon Mi-do - “Hospital Playlist” Season 2 (tvN) - 18 votes

In “Hospital Playlist,” Jo Jung-suk and Jeon Mi-do played the roles of longtime friends Lee Ik-jun and Chae Song-hwa. In Season 2, the two had an intense kissing scene in a car.

4. Kim Dae-myung and Ahn Eun-jin - “Hospital Playlist” Season 2 (tvN) - 14 votes

Kim Dae-myung played the role of obstetrician and gynecologist Yang Seok-hyeong while Ahn Eun-jin is also an obstetrician-gynecologist.

5. Lee Do-hyun and Go Min-si - “Youth in May” (KBS2) - 8 votes

Yeo Jin-goo and Shin Ha-kyun - “Beyond Evil” (JTBC) - 8 votes

6. Um Ki-joon and Kim So-yeon - “The Penthouse” Season 3 - 6 votes
