Students from Holy Angel University (HAU) rejected the presidential bid of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

In a statement, HAU University Student Council said Marcos' attempt to return to Malacañang is a "show of extreme desperation and disrespect to the Filipino people, especially to the victims of Martial Law."
Marcos' presidential bid, the students added, is a way to "further expand their propaganda so that Filipinos will finally forget the dangers of Martial Law."
This is despite his awareness and knowledge of what really happened, facts based on historical records, and witnesses during that time)," the statement, issued on Nov. 4, read.
HAU students also hit Marcos' denial of Martial Law atrocities despite the Human Rights Victims Repatriation and Recognition Act of 2013 -- a law that recognizes the horrors of Martial Law and aims to provide monetary reparation to Martial Law victims.
According to Amnesty International, there were 3,257 known extrajudicial killings, 35,000 documented tortures, 77 disappearances, and 70,000 arrests during Martial Law.
The student council also urged fellow students to "serve as the foundation of truth amid widespread historical distortion, educate the people, and show solidarity for the victims of Marcos' Martial Law as well the victims of the current regime."
Ang ating kapangyarihan bilang mga kabataan ay napatunayan na ng kasaysayan (Now, more than ever, is the time for us to stan up against injustice, corruption, greed, and lies. Our power as youth has been proven by history)."
Meanwhile, students from Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University, and Adamson University earlier expressed opposition to the presidential bid of Marcos.
