Juan GDL shows fine form but Tokyo Z slides to ninth loss

Juan Gomez de Liano scored a season-high 15 points but Earthfriends Tokyo Z remained winless in the B.League’s second division following an 80-76 away loss to the Fukushima Firebonds Saturday, Nov. 6.

Gomez de Liano went 6-of-11 from the field including three triples but Tokyo Z couldn’t complete its comeback in the fourth quarter and fell to 0-9 at the Tamura City Gymnasium in Fukushima.

It was a disappointing setback for Tokyo Z, which led 38-30 at the half before the host team turned things around in the second half.

The ex-University of the Philippines added five rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 26 minutes, his longest appearance since joining the B2 side.

He had never played at least 20 minutes in his previous seven games for Tokyo Z.

Joshua Crawford led Tokyo Z with 21 points and 16 rebounds.

Eric and Alex Murphy contributed 21 and 18 points for Fukushima which improved to 5-4.
