PNP Chief taps AKG to probe abduction of six friends in Batangas
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police Gen. Guillermo Eleazar ordered the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) Friday, Nov. 5, to step in and conduct a thorough investigation into the reported abduction of six individuals in Laurel, Batangas.

According to Eleazar, the victims – Mark Nelvin Caraan, Shane Despe, Carlo Fazon, Eugene Noora, Mar Christian Ore, and Paulino Sebastian – were on their way home to Dasmarinas, Cavite from an outing in Lian, Batangas when armed men stopped and forcibly took them from their sports utility vehicle (SUV) along the Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road last Oct. 29.
Two other companions of the victims, Perly Lape and Ma. Jennelyn Bauya, reportedly escaped their abductors and turned to the police to tell about the incident.
But a week later since the disappearance, the victims have yet to be found and the local police have yet to pin down the perpetrators of the crime so Eleazar tasked the PNP-AKG to solve the crime.
“Inatasan ko na ang director ng aming Anti-Kidnapping Group na tutukan ang kasong ito kasama ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa pamilya at mga kakilala ng mga biktima upang matukoy kung bakit ba nangyari ang insidenteng ito (I already ordered the director of our Anti-Kidnapping Group to prioritize the case and coordinate with the family and friends of the victims to determine why this incident happened),” Eleazar said.
“Ramdam ko ang pagkabahala ng mga magulang at kaanak ng mga biktima (I feel the concern of the parents and relatives of the victims) so we assure them that their PNP will do everything in its power to solve this case,” he added.
Eleazar said the Batangas Provincial Police Office (PPO) found the victims’ abandoned SUV in a forested area in Barangay Bunggo, Calamba City, Laguna.
The PNP Chief assured the families of the kidnapped victims that the police will not stop until they are brought back home and the perpetrators are delivered to justice.
He also appealed to anyone who may have information on the incident to immediately report it to authorities in order to help in locating the victims.
