Two Bakuna Centers are being prepared by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for accreditation and greenlight to vaccinate children without comorbidities aged 12-17 years old against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the agency announced Friday, Nov. 5.

In a statement, PRC said that the Department of Health (DOH) together with the local government of Mandaluyong is set to inspect the Bakuna Centers located in the Philippine Red Cross Logistics and Multipurpose Center and EDSA Boni on Friday.
The PRC will administer Pfizer and Moderna doses from the government for pediatric vaccinations. The humanitarian organization said that they aim to vaccinate more children against COVID-19 with the beginning of face-to-face classes.
"Once we receive accreditation, we aim to begin pediatric vaccinations on November 6, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with around initial 30-50 clients. Our succeeding schedules will be every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday depending on the supply provided by the government," said PRC Health Services.
PRC also added that the 1158 hotline will accommodate the calls for the Red Cross pediatric vaccination program and will be headed by its Health Services department.
"The best protection against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. By being vaccinated, you will not only be able to take good care of yourself but protect your family, friends, and your community as well," PRC Chairman and CEO Senator Dick Gordon said.
