LPA off Northern Samar continues to bring rains over Visayas, parts of Luzon

The low pressure area (LPA) near Northern Samar is expected to continue to bring scattered rains over Visayas and some parts of Southern Luzon and Bicol in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday morning, Nov. 5.

The LPA was last spotted 60 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar at around 3 a.m.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over the entire Visayas, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during the occurrence of moderate to at times heavy rains.

PAGASA said the LPA remains less likely to intensify into a tropical depression.

Meanwhile, Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned that the occurrence of severe thunderstorms may also trigger flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience fair weather conditions with a chance of isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon or "amihan."
