President Duterte hinted on Monday night, Nov. 29 that there's a certain female undersecretary who doesn't want to get vaccinated from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Duterte was talking about the importance of COVID-19 vaccines during his pre-recorded "Talk to the People" public briefing when this unvaccinated government official suddenly crossed his mind.

"Pero tayo dito lahat (But all of us here), we all believe in the bakuna (vaccine). I know of undersecretary, nakalimutan ko nandoon sa notes ko (I forgot her name, it's in my notes)," he said.

"I --- baka puntahan na lang kita sa opisina, ma’am, at ako na ang maghawak sa iyo, kung hindi talian kita sa silya mo para matusukan ka (I might go to your office, ma'am, I'll be the one to hold you, if not I'll just tie you to your chair so that you may get your shot)," Duterte said, heavily implying that the undersecretary wasn't keen on getting herself vaccinated.

"Is --- dalawa --- bahala ka, tatlong tusok, isabay mo na ‘yung booster para wala ng problema (One shot --- two shots --- it's up to you, three shots, let's include the booster already so that there would be no more problems)," the President added in jest.

Duterte made the revelation on the first day of the national government's three-day national vaccination drive dubbed "Bayanihan, Bakunahan".

The dominant topic of the briefing was the government's response to the new Omicron variant of COVID-19. First detected in South Africa, the particular variant is still mysterious regarding its effects to people.

Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III bluntly told the Chief Executive that Omicron--like all the other variants of COVID-19--will inevitably find itself in the Philippines. He said that "It's not a matter of if, but when."

At any rate, the President expressed willingness to do "vaccination visits" on government officials who do not want to get the jab.

"So ang una nating target-in puntahan natin sa opisina, ako kung may malaman ako na direktor o ano. Magdala ako ng doktor, itusok, iturok ko ‘yang needle sa ulo mo, hindi sa kamay (So the first that we will target are those we can visit in the office, if ever I hear about a director or something. I'll bring a doctor, I'll have the needle injected to your head and not your arm). Really I am not joking," he said.
