Scattered rains, thunderstorms over Visayas, parts of Luzon, Mindanao due to LPA

The low pressure area (LPA) off Dumaguete City will continue to bring rain showers and thunderstorms over some parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday morning, Nov. 3.
The location of the LPA was estimated at 70 kilometers west of Dumaguete City as of 3 a.m.
Weather specialist Benison Estareja said the LPA still has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical depression but may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the entire Visayas, Masbate, Palawan, Zamboanga del Norte, and Misamis Occidental.
Estareja added that the LPA may dissipate within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorm activities.
PAGASA advised those in Visayas and Mindanao to remain alert against possible flash floods or landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms.
Due to the northeast monsoon or "amihan," partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light rains and slightly lower temperatures may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Moreover, Estareja said PAGASA is monitoring another LPA that formed east of the country early Wednesday morning.
The LPA was located 1,095 kilometers east of Visayas at around 3 a.m.
Estareja said this weather disturbance also has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression but could bring some rains over Visayas in the next few days.
