Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said on Wednesday, Nov. 3, that the city is prepared for the possible downgrade to Alert Level 2 on Nov. 14.
"At this point, we are already prepared because I was thinking that after Undas, magkakaroon na po tayo ng downgrade. In fact, kaya nagawa na nga namin yung mga guidelines namin (At this point we are already prepared because I was thinking that after the All Souls' Day, we will be downgraded. In fact, we have already come up with the guidelines)," Belmonte said in an interview with ANC.
"More or less, we already communicated with our stakeholders the necessary protocols that they have to maintain," she added.
The city mayor said that she already instructed the City Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) to check closed establishments such as bars and KTV whether their buildings are retrofitted or if they need to improve ventilation.
"We've done the same for our movie theaters already so I think more or less we are prepared for a downgrade," she said.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) approved the re-opening of cinemas under Alert Level 3.
