DOST recognizes MB reporter in 'Ulat SIPAG' awards


The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on Monday, Nov. 29, recognized Manila Bulletin reporter Glendel Nazario for disseminating science and technology information and innovation.

In a virtual ceremony, DOST awarded Nazario third place in the National Print Category of the Ulat Strategic Industry Program for Agri-Aqua Growth (SIPAG) Award 2021.

Nazario was also recognized for his role in being the link between the science and technology sectors and its clients in technology promotion, commercialization, and adoption.

Given annually, Ulat SIPAG Awards recognize the effort of professional media practitioners in popularizing science and technology articles in relation to DOST-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research, and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).

Nazario, a Bachelor of Arts Major in Mass Communication graduate of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), joined Manila Bulletin in July 2017.

In 2021, Nazario was also among the finalists in the 16th Lasallian Scholarum Awards under the Outstanding Feature Story category in.

He also bagged the DOST-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development's (DOST-PCIEERD) Kabalikat Media Partner Award in 2020.
