Rolando Dy headlines main event vs Serbian veteran

Filipino fighter Rolando Dy is set to take centerstage when he faces Serbian veteran Slobodan Maksimovic in the cage next month.

Dy, son of boxing legend Rolando Navarette, hopes to end the year on a high note against Maksimovic in their lightweight encounter in BRAVE CF 56 at the Belexpocentar in Belgrade, Serbia on Dec. 18.

Dy last saw action in March with a heartbreaking corner stoppage defeat against Kyrgyz foe Abdysalam Uulu Kubanychiev.

Prior to that, the 30-year-old Filipino fighter was hailed as the 2020 BRAVE CF Fighter of the Year after back-to-back wins against Maciek Gierszewski and John Brewin.

The 32-year-old Maksimovic, hailing from Belgrade itself, for his part, rides on a two-match win streak against Sergio de Jesus Santos and Bruno Lobato since November 2020.

Against Maksimovic, Dy will face a versatile fighter with both hard-hitting strikes and precise grappling skills.

This marks Maksimovic's promotional debut since competing in the Serbian Battle Championship.

Dy holds a 14-10 record while Maksimovic owns a 17-6 card with one draw.
